General Information:
James Madison University a Division I member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference is seeking an Olympic Sports Nutrition Fellow. Reporting directly to the Director of Sports Nutrition this functional leader will assist in executing the sports nutrition programs mission to provide JMU student-athletes with cutting-edge nutrition knowledge to optimize fueling for performance and recovery decrease risk of illness and injury and promote overall health and wellness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provision of nutrition services to other assigned teams including individual and team education supplement management hydration testing plate coaching at team meals and advising coaching staff on meal planning for team travel and competition
Assist in management and oversight of fuel station operations including product inventory ordering receiving
Collaborate with sport coaches strength and conditioning coaches and athletic training staff to optimize student-athlete care
Assist the Director of Sports Nutrition with implementation of all-team education utilizing a variety of platforms including social media initiatives cooking classes/food demonstrations grocery store tours and development of print materials
Be a team player in all your communication and interactions with the Strength & Conditioning staff Integrated Health and Sports
Performance Staff and Athletics Department
Assist in the supervision and oversight of student volunteers paid student workers and dietetic interns
Other duties as assigned by the Sports Nutrition Staff
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to NCAA Sunbelt Conference and institutional rules and regulations

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
