Hours of Work 35 Hours the allocation of these hours will be at the discretion of the Department Head and in accordance with needs of service

Remuneration - *64551 (point 1) to 76007 (point 9)

Annual Leave - As per Health Service Executive (HSE)

Peamount Healthcare is a registered charity and is directly funded by the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004. The hospital provides consultant led multidisciplinary specialist rehabilitation services to patients at the right time and in the right place which improve patient outcomes. Peamount Healthcare provides specialist rehabilitation in Neurology Age-Related Respiratory and Rheumatology. The services provided also include continuing care services for the older person adults with neurological disabilities and individuals with intellectual disabilities.

PURPOSE OF THE POST

To deliver a high-quality person-centred service primarily to older adults with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. There will also be opportunity to provide input to other clinical areas including residential care for older persons.

To work in collaboration with the Occupational Therapy Manager in planning developing co-ordinating and evaluating the service to meet the needs of the service users and the objectives of the organisation. The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision and delivery of a high-quality Occupational Therapy service in the designated clinical area(s) and will carry out clinical educational and administrative duties as required.

POINT ON SALARY SCALE

  • New appointees coming from the private sector will be placed on the minimum point of the scale.
  • Clinical and Therapy Grades: Incremental credit may be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011) in the Civil Service local authorities public service health service and other public service bodies and statutory agencies.
