Primary Purpose of Job:

To lead the delivery of the people change components of multiple HR projects to achieve cost time right outcomes and quality objectives within DFTO guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver various people change projects in accordance to business standards across the DFTO group.
  • Lead the formulation of and people transition plans for project change with the business functions and stakeholders agreeing all communications and engagement strategies to lead people change activities.
  • Provide organisational design and organisational change advice guidance and expertise to support the business leaders in achieving the right outcomes for their people teams and delivery requirements.
  • Ensuring the correct legal HR and Compliance processes have been completed.
  • Develop and manage relationships with the business community and stakeholders to support the development of the people change projects and to gain buy-in during project lifecycle.
  • Control people change activities and risks on business change tasks and provide all costs contingency and programme details to enable the sponsor to direct change strategy and engagement.
  • Provide detailed input for the compilation of the Business Plan and production of change and transition plans.
  • Liaise with the wider Programme Management office and teams to align and deliver the effective implementation of appropriate people change solutions.
  • Liaise with the Information Management to deliver the effective implementation of appropriate technical solutions

Knowledge Skills Experience & Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience of delivering various people change projects preferable on a large scale such as TUPE M&A or restructuring programmes.
  • Understanding of the railway or similar industry
  • Demonstrated credibility and impact with senior stakeholders
  • Effective interpersonal skills and an ability to use influence to gain buy in to enable change to happen through others.
  • A drive to deliver tangible outcomes which meet business requirements
  • An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication engagement and presentation skills at all levels.

Vacancy Details:

Duration:2 year Fixed Term contract/secondment
Location:London Waterloo/Hybrid
Salary:up to 70000
Closing date: 11th March 2026

DFTO Benefits:

Annual Leave: Starting at 25 days and rising to an additional day per year of service completed within the first 5 completed years up to a maximum of 5 additional (30 days)

DC Pension Scheme: 10% Employer contribution 5% Employee contribution
