Position Description

The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a part-time Academic Instructor to teach EESC 376 (Field Methods in Earth & Environmental Sciences) (3 credits) during the winter term of the 2025-2026 academic year commencing April 6 2026 and ending April 30 2026.

The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. or Masters degree in Earth & Environmental Sciences or a closely related field. Preference will be given to individuals who exhibit a strong commitment to teaching and prior successful teaching experience at the university level is desirable.

EESC 376 is an upper-level field-based course that focuses on the application of geological and environmental field methods including field observation mapping data collection and interpretation. The course may involve field instruction and supervision of students in outdoor learning environments and typically takes place in April.
