Job Summary
Overview
Counselor will be responsible for all facets of the implementation of the Youth Program Summer Day Camp primarily the supervision of youth and activities.
Responsibilities
- Participate in implementing Summer Day Camp under the Directors leadership and Corps Officers as needed.
- Proper supervision of youth while maintaining a safe and structured environment at all times.
- Participation with students during all activities.
- Assist with the teaching and implementation of lessons and activities (i.e. arts recreation devotions etc.).
- Assist with snack and meal distribution
- Attend all field trips and other outings
- Maintain good stewardship practices in care of equipment facilities and grounds
Qualifications
- Passion to help disadvantaged youth
- Good communication skills
- All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance Request for Criminal Record and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
- PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Armys KeepSAfe training required.
- High school diploma - or working towards one
- Previous employment or volunteer experience working with youth and leading activities
