This position will be working with Wilhelmsen Ship Management a comprehensive global maritime group providing over half of the merchant fleet with essential products and services along with supplying crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail. With a pool of more than 13000 seafarers and over 600 shore-based employees all over the world Wilhelmsen Ship Management is one of worlds largest third-party ship managers with a portfolio of more than 450 vessels and counting.
The Marine Personnel Senior Specialist supports the recruitment and operations teams in managing end-to-end hiring and onboarding of seafarers while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the recruitment and operations teams in day-to-day activities related to seafarer recruitment and mobilization. Identify and recruit suitable candidates by leveraging online recruiting resources internal systems and industry networks while staying updated on modern recruitment trends and practices. Manage the full recruitment cycle for seafarers including sourcing candidates coordinating interviews as per company guidelines and building talent pipelines through industry contacts associations trade groups and employee referrals.

Ensure seafarers certificates and documents are verified in line with company requirements and that crew members join with valid certifications covering the contract period and applicable grace period. Maintain accurate recruitment records by updating seafarer data and documents in the Crew Management System (CMS).

Support onboarding activities by ensuring joining seafarers complete Pre-Employment Medical Examinations (PEME) with company-approved doctors and conducting authentication checks for STCW Convention certificates with verification records updated in CMS. Conduct pre-joining briefings for newly recruited seafarers and assist in arranging company-specific training as per GTM requirements.

Ensure CMS data remains accurate and up to date while supporting smooth joining processes and carrying out additional operational tasks responsibilities or ad-hoc assignments as directed by reporting managers.

Demonstrates strong customer focus while engaging with seafarers and stakeholders. Possesses effective problem-solving and decision-making skills along with strong team commitment and collaboration. It shows creativity and innovation in recruitment and operational processes while maintaining high standards of professionalism and attention to detail.
