Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- Master of Divinity/Theology in Pastoral Care/Psychology/Counseling
- A minimum of one year Clinical Pastoral Education at an approved institution
- Evidence of continuing education in the area of aging
- Ecclesiastical endorsement by the appropriate denominational body/ or nearing ecclesiastical endorsement is a plus.
- Two years of professional ministry
- Ability and stamina to minister to residents with varying physical emotional and mental abilities
- Evidence of time management skills
- Comfort and skill in ministering to persons of different faith traditions
- Good verbal skills
- A strong interest and commitment to serve older adults
- Demonstrated abilities to work as an effective team member

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Worship and Spiritual Enrichment
- Provide religious services for residents families and staff in coordination with resident committees.
- Support residents of all faiths in receiving appropriate spiritual care as requested.
- Lead services of remembrance and comfort when appropriate.
- Plan and coordinate spiritual enrichment opportunities for all levels of care in collaboration with Activity Staff.
Visitation and Ministry
- Offer individual emotional and spiritual support to residents families and staff.
- Regularly visit residents prioritizing those with the greatest needs.
- Provide pastoral care during times of crisis.
- Serve as a resource to residents and care teams on spiritual emotional developmental and ethical concerns.
- Visit new residents and residents transitioning into Assisted Living or Health Care.
- Maintain contact with residents and staff during hospitalizations.
- Oversee distribution of religious literature and media according to Lakewood policy.
Administrative
- Report to and maintain accountability with Lakewood administration.
- Assist with budgeting for spiritual enrichment needs.
- Maintain records and submit required reports.
- Follow all Lakewood policies including confidentiality infection control abuse prevention and residents rights.
- Report concerns such as abuse or neglect to management.
- Provide training or in-service programs for staff families and residents as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Community Involvement
- Maintain communication with area clergy as needed.
- Encourage and support residents relationships with their local faith communities and religious leaders.
- Represent Lakewood within the LifeSpire constituency.
