PAY GRADE:CA 1

ACE STIPEND:$12000 Annual ACE Leadership Stipend (in accordance withthe District ACE Compensation Plan)

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Assistant Principal Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) Elementary School supports the campus principal in implementing the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) turnaround model and ensuring strong instructional leadership effective school operations and systems that accelerate student achievement.

The ACE Assistant Principal works collaboratively with the principal and instructional leadership team to support rigorous instruction strengthen teacher effectivenessmonitorstudent performance data and implement campus improvement strategies that lead to measurable improvements in student outcomes.

The Assistant Principal must act with integrity support organizational goalsdemonstratethe ability to inspire and support staffutilizefeedback to improve performance drive results and champion the needs of students employees and the district.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas Assistant Principal or otherappropriate administrativecertification
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience

Preferred

  • Two or more years of successful experience as a campus administrator
  • Five or more years of classroom teaching experience
  • Experience supporting instructional coaching and teacher development
  • Experience working in high-needs or turnaround campuses
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Thorough understanding of school operations and campus management systems
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum instruction and effective teaching practices
  • Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement data to guide instructional improvement
  • Knowledge of state accountability systems and campus improvement planning
  • Ability to coach and support teachers in improving instructional practices
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate campus support operations and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of federal state and local laws and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Instructional Management

  • Support the implementation of the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) instructional model.
  • Participate in the development implementation and evaluation of educational programs.
  • Support the principal in ensuring rigorous standards-aligned instruction in all classrooms.
  • Monitor instructional practices and provide feedback to teachers to strengthen teaching and learning.
  • Support teachers in implementing research-based instructional strategies and high-quality instructional materials.
  • Encourage and support innovative instructional practices and continuous improvement.
  • Promote the effective use of instructional technology in the teaching and learning process.
  • Assist in monitoring student performance data andsupportinterventions to improve student achievement.

School / Organizational Climate

  • Promote a positive caring school climate that supports student learning and staff collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively with students staff parents and community members.
  • Support a school culture that reflectshigh expectationsfor both students and staff.
  • Assistin building collaborative teams focused on improving instructional outcomes.

Personnel Management

  • Observe employee performance record observations and conduct evaluation conferences as assigned.
  • Serve assecondappraiser in the teacher appraisal system as designated.
  • Assistthe principal in recruiting interviewing selecting and orientingnew staffmembers.
  • Support the professional growth and development of teachers through coaching and feedback.
  • Assistin coordinating campus professional development activities aligned with campus instructional goals.

Administration and Fiscal / Facilities Management

  • Supervise campus operations in the absence of the principal.
  • Assist in planning daily school activities including class schedules teacher assignments and activity schedules.
  • Assistwith supervision and monitoring of student attendance and work with attendance personnel on follow-up investigations.
  • Requisitionsupplies textbooks and equipment; maintain inventory and verify receipts for materials.
  • Assistwith campus safety inspections and safety drill activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws State Board of Education rules and district policies.

Student Management

  • Ensure students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods.
  • Assistin developing and implementing a student discipline management system that promotes positive student behavior.
  • Ensure school rules are applied consistently and that student discipline practices are fair and equitable.
  • Conduct conferences with parents students and teachersregardingstudent issues and school concerns.
  • Assistin implementing systems that support student attendance behavior and academic success.

Professional Growth and Development

  • Participate in all required professional development and training which may occur within or outside the regular instructional day or employee work calendar.
  • Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job responsibilities.
  • Participate in instructional leadership meetings data analysis sessions and campus improvement planning.
  • Support andparticipatein campus Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and teacher collaboration structures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the campus principal. Supervise teachers custodians paraprofessionals clerical personnel and other staff as assigned.

Other Duties

Perform all otherduties asassigned by the principal in support of campus and district goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require physical mobility standing prolonged sitting some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling. This position may require travel within the district and statewide.

Mental demands include the ability to solve problems analyze data interpret policies and regulations communicate effectively andmaintainemotional control under stress.

The position may require participation in professional development collaborative planning sessions and instructional meetings beyond the standard school day as part of the ACE instructional model.
