Job Summary
Amazon Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazons scale. Were building revolutionary robotic systems that combine cutting-edge AI sophisticated control systems and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of whats possible in robotic manipulation locomotion and human-robot interaction. This role is focused on mechatronic actuation systems as a key part of modern robotics and automation machinery.

Hire and manage a team of exceptional engineers
Own success across multiple development engagements
Help your team Invent and Simplify to solve really hard business and technical challenges
Influence the strategic roadmap
Set operational metrics and drive best practices
A day in the life
Primary focus will be to guide the team helping to navigate to our mutual target.
As a member of the program leadership group you will represent the Actuation Group on both a technical and organizational level.
Together with your more technical counterpart you will determine execute and own the Actuation Strategy ensuring that the group delivers what the higher-level robot owners need.
About the team
The Actuation Group has designed build and validated electro-mechanical actuation systems in the field of lightweight robotics for years. The team has recently joined a newly founded robotics program within Amazon to feature this program with its speed-boat mentality to bring innovative actuation systems to life at scale.
- Experience in managing an engineering team operating at scale
- Masters degree or above in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in production monitoring and metrics reporting
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines
- Demonstrated understanding of core Robotics related technologies able to weigh the pros and cons of technology choices and propose relevant options.
