Job Summary

Electrical Engineer Power Generation

Aviation ground Equipment Corp. (AGEC) is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to be part of our power generation products engineering team. This is a key engineering position responsible for electrical subsystem engineering for military power conversion and power generation products.

AGEC is a rapidly growing developer and manufacturer of military power generation and control equipment supporting aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) needs. AGEC is relied on by our men and women in the military to deliver critical assets that protect this nation and our allies. What you will do:

  • Perform electrical engineering design for power generation products up to 200kW including proper wire and component selection in accordance with relevant codes and detailed specifications.
  • Develop detailed schematics wiring diagrams and other electrical documentation.
  • Translate complex customer and military requirements into complete compliant electrical system designs.
  • Conduct hands-on hardware testing to verify design performance and requirement compliance.
  • Utilize lab tools such as oscilloscopes logic analyzers and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Work confidently in a lab and production environments involving high-power electrical generation systems.
  • Assist with the design of power conversion subsystems including modern IGBT-based active front-end architectures.
  • Support development across AC DC 400 Hz and 270 VDC specialty subsystems.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Design to ensure proper integration fit and assembly of electrical components and systems.
  • Generate technical reports for validation testing design verification and related engineering activities.
  • Assist in developing system control logic to ensure proper product operation and performance.
  • Support obsolescence mitigation efforts by identifying and implementing alternative electrical components to maintain product functionality and compliance.

What you will need:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a closely related engineering degree. Masters degree a plus.
  • Exposure to power systems a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience developing standalone power conversion and generation systems.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills with an eye for detail.
  • Experience with testing power systems including power quality.
  • Comfortable with oscilloscopes signal generators and other monitoring or test equipment.
  • Desire to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic small business environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Work on site is required.
  • Background with military government product development or military experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
