About the role
The Enphase Power Systems Innovation team in the Office of the CTO is responsible for defining prototyping and supporting next-generation system hardware solutions for Enphase products. The team is an integrated multi-disciplinary group that is fast-moving and collaborative focused on delivering high-quality hardware from concept through validation.
Enphase Energy is seeking an electrical engineer who is also highly capable in hands-on lab technician responsibilities lab management and testing. This role combines lab operations leadership with direct execution in soldering/rework PCBA kitting prototype mechanical assembly support test assistance and procurement for both lab and PCBA builds. This position also offers career growth opportunities into PCB layout support and wire harness diagram creation.
What you will do
- Lead day-to-day lab operations organization readiness and workflow coordination across engineering activities.
- Maintain safe clean and efficient lab spaces tools and equipment.
- Procure parts and consumables for lab operations and prototype activities.
- Execute engineering test and data post processing
- Procure components for PCBA builds including sourcing support and shortage follow-up.
- Perform and coordinate parts kitting for PCBA builds with BOM alignment and traceability.
- Perform hands-on technician duties including electronic assembly soldering and rework of prototype hardware.
- Execute soldering and rework to IPC-A-610 Class 2 workmanship expectations.
- Perform fine-pitch soldering and rework on packages including >64-pin QFP bottom-leaded devices (QFN/DFN) and 5x5 MOSFET packages.
- Assist with mechanical assembly and integration of prototype systems.
- Assist with test setup test execution data capture and troubleshooting support.
- Maintain clear build test and material status documentation.
- Collaborate closely with electrical mechanical firmware and test engineers to support schedule and quality goals.
Who you are and what you bring
- BS/AS or equivalent technical experience in electronics engineering technology or related field
- 4 years of experience in electronics lab operations technician work or prototype build support
- Proven hands-on experience in soldering electronic assembly and rework
- Familiarity with IPC Class 2 assembly and rework processes
- Demonstrated capability with fine-pitch packages including >64-pin QFP bottom-leaded devices and 5x5 MOSFET packages.
- Experience with PCBA kitting component handling and build preparation
- Experience supporting mechanical assembly and prototype integration.
- Experience assisting with electronics test execution in a lab environment
- Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion with high quality

- Familiarity with BOM management and prototype build control.
- Basic experience with wire/cable documentation and harness-related assembly workflows.
- Exposure to PCB design tools and PCB layout workflows.
- Interest in career development toward PCB layout support and wire harness diagram creation.

The base pay range for this position is $70000 to $108000. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience education or training work location and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus equity and benefits.
