Position: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECH I
Requires open availability including evenings and weekends.
Status: Reports to the Director of Information Technology
Pay Level: VII non-exempt.
Location: Administrative Office Florence MA
Purpose: To ensure the highest level of service possible to River Valley Co-ops internal and external customers. To support the Director of Information Technology (IT) in developing and maintaining IT systems to ensure smooth operations training and support for all stakeholders to be effective and efficient throughout the Co-op. A large part of this will be to work directly and frequently with users of the Point of Sale (POS) system and look for ways to increase efficiency and coordinate the resolution of existing issues and roadblocks. It will also involve the setup and maintenance of desktop and laptop computer systems networking equipment and servers as needed.
Responsibilities
CUSTOMER SERVICE
It is the primary responsibility of every Co-op employee to serve our owners and customers with a superior shopping experience by using excellent customer service skills. This responsibility includes but is not limited to friendly helpful interactions with staff vendors service providers and customers.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) DEPARTMENT
- Provide first-level technical support resources to aid in help desk troubleshooting maintenance and training.
- Escalation of issues to the appropriate contacts as needed.
- Interface with all teams to coordinate an expansion and evolution of our Point of Sale system capabilities.
- Establish onboarding and training programs. Provide individual training and support upon request.
- Assist with developing and maintaining documentation on IT systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of IT systems as needed.
- Assist with the configuration and deployment of desktop and laptop computers and peripherals.
- Triage issues with LAN/WAN networking issues to either the Director of Information Technology or the third-party support.
- Maintain the internal IT asset management system.
- Commit to working collaboratively using an IT trouble ticket system.
- Create documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) best practices and user guides.
OTHER DUTIES
- Assist in ensuring a current and accurate inventory of technology software hardware and resources including helping to maintain a schedule for upgrades/replacement of critical hardware.
- Assist with the support and maintenance of the Point of Sale system and scales including warranty replacements.
- Ability to be flexible in scheduling to meet the needs of maintenance windows and outages.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with third-party vendors as needed to resolve issues.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree or two years of equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency with all versions of Windows and OS X.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Google Suite.
- Familiarity and knowledge of current trends in information technology for the retail grocery industry.
PREFERRED
- Natural and local foods (retail wholesale).
- Ability to speak Spanish French or Swahili is a plus.
