Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:1. Evidence of the equivalent of at least two (2) years of college (60 credits). Bachelors preferred.2. A proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with many different publics.3. A sense of humor and a proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with all staff members and with the larger educational community.4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Department may find appropriate and TO:Building Principal and/or designeeSUPERVISES:Assigned studentsJOB GOAL:To enable each student to pursue his/her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of his/her regular RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):1. Reports in a timely manner to the designated administrative office and staff upon arrival at the school building.2. Reviews all plans and schedules to be following during the teaching day as provided by appropriate supervisor(s).3. Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.4. Reports student attendance as required by the administrative office.5. Teaches the lesson(s) outlined and described in the substitute teachers plan as prepared by the absent teacher.6. Consults as appropriate with the building principal department head or other appropriate supervisor before initiating any teaching or other procedures not previously specified in the substitute teacher plan.7. Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in assigned classes and in any other supervisory assignments.8. Reports on the days activities at the conclusion of each teaching day per the routines established by the school for such.9. Follows all policies rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.10. Performs such other related tasks and assumes such other related responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal and/or Program Manager as above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
