Job Summary
Job Description:
A Mechanical Fitter (Maintenance)installs maintains and repairs industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Key duties include troubleshooting disassembling repairing and reassembling equipment along with reading technical drawings using precision measuring tools and adhering to strict safety protocols to ensure optimal production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshooting & Repair:Diagnose disassemble repair and reassemble machinery including gearboxes pumps and conveyors.
- Installation:Install new plant equipment and mechanical components.
- Fabrication:Fabricate cut and shape metal parts using tools like grinders drills and welding equipment.
- Technical Compliance:Interpret blueprints technical diagrams and engineering specifications.
- Safety Adherence:Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations including proper use of PPE.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education:ITI in Fitter Trade or equivalent vocational training.
- Experience:Proven experience in industrial maintenance (typically 0-3 years).
- Technical Skills:Proficient in welding (TIG/MIG) fabrication and using hand/power tools.
- Analytical Skills:Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex machinery.
- Physical Stamina:Ability to work in demanding environments lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
Common Qualifications/Certifications
- Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade.
- Forklift license.
- Confined space entry certification.
