Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Saw Operator to join our Cold Finish / Conditioning team. This role involves locating material loading it onto work tables and performing abrasive cutting operations according to written instructions. The ideal candidate is safety-focused detail-oriented and comfortable working in an industrial environment. Responsibilities Locate and verify material using travelers and tags Load materials onto work tables and operate abrasive cutting saws Complete required paperwork including travelers tags and lab forms Install saw blades correctly and visually inspect for any defects Follow strict safety procedures during all machine operations Report any unusual material conditions to the supervisor Weigh billet material as required and process leftover materials into stock Tag color-code and clearly identify all materials per procedure Ensure accurate cut lengths and verify first cuts with supervisor Deburr finished products and ensure cuts are straight and clean Requirements Ability to read travelers DCRs tape measures and templates Forklift license and overhead crane training/certification required Ability to read and write English and follow verbal/written instructions Basic math skills (addition subtraction multiplication division) Ability to lift 50100 lbs repeatedly Basic understanding of ISO manufacturing procedures (PRPS) Preferred Experience operating abrasive saws Prior experience in metals machining or industrial manufacturing Work Environment Cold Finish / Conditioning department Frequent use of forklifts overhead cranes measuring tools and PPE Industrial environment requiring consistent safety awareness
