Job Summary

Position Overview the Department of Radiology at Boston University School of Medicine supports advanced imaging diagnostic innovation and translational research that bridges basic science discoveries and clinical application. The department provides technical and research infrastructure for faculty conducting imaging- and technology-driven studies across a range of diseases. A Research Technician position is available in Dr. Lee Goldsteins laboratory a cutting-edge biomedical research lab focused on neurodegenerative and age-related diseases including Alzheimers disease and traumatic brain injury. The laboratory conducts clinical and translational research examining abnormal protein aggregation and developing novel laser-based diagnostic technologies to advance early detection methods. This position plays a critical role in supporting laboratory operations and ongoing funded research. The Research Technician will conduct clinical assessments support laboratory experiments assist with data collection and analysis and maintain research protocols and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Research Activities Conduct clinical assessments of Alzheimers disease and control participants at the Boston University Alzheimers Disease Research Center.
  • Administer eye scanner tests and assist with participant evaluations Laboratory Research Support Assist with general laboratory experiments and procedures Support research activities that may include work with laboratory mice (training provided).
  • Athlete Concussion Assessments Conduct clinical assessments of athletes and control participants Screen and enroll research participants.
  • Perform cognitive and balance assessments and eye scanner testing Perform blood draws (phlebotomy training provided).
  • Respond to athletic trainers when head injuries occur (flexibility required) Data Analysis and Research Support Perform data analysis and assist with preparation of research data for publications and presentation.
  • Data Management and Compliance Organize and maintain research data Ensure secure collection and storage of confidential study data in accordance with protocols.
  • Specimen Processing and Study Monitoring Prepare and process blood specimens for biomarker analysis Assist with monitoring and reporting research-related adverse events.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with equipment maintenance and laboratory operations.
  • Collaborate with investigators and research staff.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree in biology neuroscience biomedical sciences or a related field 13 years of relevant research or clinical experience Strong organizational data management and communication skills.
