Senior Java Software Engineer

WorldQuant develops and deploys systematic financial strategies across a broad range of asset classes and global markets. Technologists at WorldQuant research design code test and deploy firmwide platforms and tooling while working collaboratively with researchers and portfolio managers. The Role: WorldQuant is seeking an exceptional individual to be a key contributor to the maturation phase of several essential software systems currently in firmwide use. These systems are an important part of the research and production trading pipelines. Your mission will be to relentlessly improve their performance scalability reliability and survivability while continuing to develop features. Key technologies for the products include:

• Java (and to a lesser extent Python)
• Distributed systems
• Kafka
• PostgreSQL
• BigQuery

What Youll Bring:

• Computer Science degree (advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred- particularly with storage technologies or distributed systems)
• Extensive experience as a key contributor in the development of complex software systems (leading financial services firm experience preferred- particularly involved in high performance systems)
• Deep expertise in modern Java and distributed systems with hands-on experience building scalable resilient mission-critical services
• Strong experience with data-intensive architectures using technologies such as Kafka PostgreSQL and/or BigQuery with a track record of performance optimization and reliability in production
