Education:
*Graduate from a college/school of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) OR graduate from a foreign college of pharmacy that has at least a five-year curriculum and has passed the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and become certified by the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Commission (FPGEC) required
*A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution preferred

Required Experience:
*One-year hospital or health-system pharmacy information systems experience required
*Experience with pharmacy services within an integrated health-system required
*Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current or within three months of hire required

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Advanced PC applications and operations skills required (i.e. database spreadsheet applications and software)
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Demonstrated initiative
*Skills in prioritization problem-solving time management
*Demonstrated ability to work in teams

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employees scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

Department Overview

The pharmacy department at Childrens Minnesota is staffed by registered pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians with specialized training in pediatric pharmacy. Our inpatient pharmacists perform daily rounds with providers and are essential partners in providing state-of-the-art pediatric comprehensive medication management services pharmacy automation IV production and compounding services. Childrens pharmacists provide medication education consultation and specialized drug information services as well as participating in educational and outreach programs. We provide 24-hour inpatient operations services along with 16-hour decentral pharmacist coverage. Our inpatient decentral team includes trained subspecialists in neonatal pediatric and cardiovascular critical care including cardiac transplant pediatric medicine oncology neuroscience emergency medicine (including Level I trauma services) and research. Our pharmacists are also essential partners in the ambulatory setting providing pediatric pharmacy services for home infusion retail pharmacy oncology clinic/infusion center and hemophilia treatment center as well as medication therapy management (MTM) within our primary and specialty care clinics. We are committed to training the next generation of pediatric pharmacy professionals through mentoring of pharmacy students and post-doctoral training in our robust residency program which includes post-graduate year one (PGY1) and two (PGY2) residencies in pediatrics and pharmacogenomics. Position Summary

The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist provides coordination of informatics systems and processes that integrate pharmacy with information systems for optimal operational and clinical outcomes. This position serves as a liaison between pharmacy clinical operations and the Information Technology Services (ITS) teams. The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist is responsible for the planning development maintenance optimization and evaluation of information systems and related equipment/medical devices as they relate to pharmacy and medication management. This position evaluates data to optimize systems and medication safety.

Accountability/Job Duties:
*This position reports to pharmacy leadership and collaborates with both ITS and Pharmacy leaders and staff to manage and appropriately maintain medication management related applications and support efficient workflows.
*Participates in quality-related projects as an expert in clinical information systems related to medication management.
*Assists in providing needed informatics information in the form of reports or dashboards to management as requested.
*Leads and/or participates in assigned committees to provide leadership and expertise from a clinical operations perspective.
*Coordinates and oversees the content on the intranet pages related to medications or pharmacy.
*Research and evaluation of new software applications and pharmacy automation to support future needs for pharmacy and medication management.
*Other duties as assigned.
