Art Graphic Design Digital Lab Studio Assistant 2627

Expected hours of work per week: 10-20

Work Location & Hours: Jackson 117 hours are variable

Qualifications for Position:

• Background of the digital lab from ART 340 Digital Photography and/or ART 220 Communication Design
• Work with maintaining digital printers: ink levels paper
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software
• Ability to keep a schedule and complete tasks on time. Much of what a Work-study student does is for class preparation. If the work-study doesnt get it done the students cant begin or complete their projects. Must be a team player.
• Responsible problem solver because this job requires a high degree of responsibility in maintaining expensive equipment as well as anticipation of problems and finding solutions to problems.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning: building and equipment.
• Organizing and maintaining studio space.
• Assist faculty set up for demonstrations lectures and classes (ie. printing out photographs designing posters and department-related items etc.)

Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed

• Career & Self-Development including organizing and prioritizing time.
• Communication in the form of email and oral exchange.
• Critical Thinking in the form of creating solutions and being proactive with tasks.
• Global Literacy displayed by researching artists and artworks from diverse cultures.
