Parts Cashier
Position Summary:
The Parts Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions in the parts department providing excellent customer service and supporting the daily operations of the parts counter. This role requires strong attention to detail accuracy in processing payments and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer purchases returns and exchanges accurately through the point-of-sale system.
- Handle cash credit card and other payment methods while maintaining proper cash drawer procedures.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to all customers in person and over the phone.
- Assist parts counter staff with administrative tasks invoices and documentation.
- Maintain a clean organized and professional cashier area.
- Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department when necessary.
- Support parts department operations by assisting with filing paperwork and basic inventory inquiries as needed.
- Follow company policies and procedures related to transactions security and customer service.
Schedule Requirements:
- Hours may vary between morning and evening shifts based on department needs.
- Availability is required for every other Saturday with a Monday shift following the Saturday worked.
Qualifications:
- Previous cashier retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate a point-of-sale system.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based in a dealership or parts department office/counter environment.
- Requires standing interacting with customers and occasional administrative tasks.
