About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Biology lessons across Key Stages 3 4 and 5 inspiring pupils to develop scientific knowledge analytical skills and a passion for life sciences. You will plan lessons that combine theoretical understanding with practical investigations encouraging independent thinking and problem-solving.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Biology lessons across KS3 KS4 and A-Level

• Teaching core biological concepts including human biology genetics ecology and physiology

• Developing pupils practical skills through laboratory experiments and fieldwork

• Assessing pupil progress providing timely feedback and supporting intervention where necessary

• Contributing to the development of the Biology curriculum and teaching resources

• Supporting science enrichment activities clubs and competitions

• Maintaining high standards of health and safety within laboratories and practical areas

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have strong subject knowledge in Biology and the ability to inspire pupils

• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills

• Be committed to supporting pupils of all abilities and promoting academic excellence

• Show creativity and initiative in lesson planning and delivery

• Be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school including extracurricular activities
