About the Role
The successful candidate will provide technical support to the Design Technology department assisting with lesson preparation workshop organisation and the maintenance of equipment and resources. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons are delivered safely and effectively enabling pupils to achieve their full potential in practical subjects.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing materials equipment and resources for DT lessons across Key Stages 35
Maintaining and safely operating tools machinery and workshop equipment
Supporting staff and pupils during practical lessons
Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as required
Ensuring workshops are organised safe and compliant with health and safety standards
Assisting with the development and preparation of departmental projects and displays
Supporting departmental enrichment activities such as clubs or competitions
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in Design & Technology practical workshops or a technical support role
Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Be confident in using tools equipment and machinery safely
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be proactive reliable and able to work independently and collaboratively
Understand and implement health and safety procedures in practical environments
