We are currently looking for an R&D Scientist to join a highly innovative and technology-driven organization focused on developing next-generation solutions for electrical systems and switching this role you will work at the forefront of research and development contributing to high-impact projects that support the global transition toward sustainable and efficient energy systems.
About the role
As an R&D Scientist you will be part of an international research team working with advanced electrical systems switching devices and electrification technologies. The role combines theoretical research simulation laboratory experimentation and prototype development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Initiating leading and contributing to research and development projects
Performing simulations of electrical apparatus and power systems
Exploring and developing innovative concepts within switching technologies
Conducting experimental verification and testing in laboratory environments
Designing building and evaluating prototypes
Contributing to the development of digital solutions for future product portfolios
Collaborating with internal stakeholders customers and research partners
Your profile
We are looking for candidates who have:
A PhD or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Applied Physics or a related field
Experience in electrical design testing or prototype development
Knowledge of electrical systems and/or multiphysics simulations
Experience with measurements control systems or performance optimization algorithms
Strong communication skills in English both written and spoken
The ability to work effectively in collaborative and multidisciplinary technical teams

Location: Västerås
Start date: By agreement
Employment type: Permanent position initially as a consultancy assignment for 12 months with the ambition of transitioning directly to the client thereafter.
