Job Summary

Responsibilities:

Assistsin preparing patientsfortheirprocedure

Works with the healthcare team to prepare the endoscopy suite according to requirements of patient physician and procedureassembling and providing properly functioning equipment supplies and instruments.

Assistsphysician during endoscopy procedure

Collects and handles patient specimens per the RN in accurately documenting and handling specimens.

Reportsobservedchanges in patient condition to nurses and physicians

Works collaboratively with the endoscopy team to assure high level disinfection and/or sterility of instruments and supplies according to policy andprocedure

Follows manufacturers instructions for use for all steps of cleaning high level disinfection or sterilization for instruments and/or equipment

Appropriately cleans endoscopy suite between cases following centers policy and procedures

Assistswithmaintainingadequate inventory of supplies

Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to the Code of Conduct

Complies withcenter policies and procedures

Demonstrates an attitude that is caring respectful sensitiveandcompassionate.

Provides a safe environment for the patient

Communicates safety concerns appropriately following Chain of Command

Assists in ensuringaccuratedocumentation for procedure records and logs.

Promotes patient and physician satisfaction

Practicesappropriate aseptictechniques and sterile processes asappropriate totheendoscopy suite

Maintains flexibility and performs other duties asrequired

Participatesin staff meetings in-services and continuing education asrequired

Position Qualifications:

Highschool diploma or GED

Ability to understand read write and speak English.

Ability to read analyze and interpret manufacturers instructions or instructions for use. Ability to effectively present information respond to questions and professionally interact with Physicians managers employeespatientsvendors and thegeneral public.

Ability to stand forlong periodsof time lift push or pullobjects or patients.

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions decimals and percentages.

Ability to multi-task effectively efficiently accurately and with attention to details
1 year experience working as an Endoscopy Technician including experience reprocessing flexible endoscopes
Successful completion of Basic Life Support provider program
