Job Summary:
The X-Ray Technician will be responsible for performing radiographic examinations on patients in an acute care hospital setting. This includes utilizing X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures and collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals. The technician must have experience with Epic charting and acute care environments.
Location:Anchorage Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety measures.
- Operate and maintain X-ray equipment.
- Process and evaluate images for technical quality.
- Document patient information and procedures in Epic.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Assist in emergency situations.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- ARRT-R certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Technician
- Epic experience
- Acute Care experience
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in a Level II Trauma center
- Experience with digital radiography systems
Special Considerations:
- Must be available to work every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule.
- Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Limited RTO is allowed.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 Night shifts (Friday Saturday Sunday)
- 72 hours per 2 weeks guaranteed.
- Traveler can be called off for 1 8-hour shift per 2 weeks.
