Job Summary

Job Summary:

The MRI Technician performs MRI procedures including general studies MSK body neuro and breast imaging while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role requires proficiency in various MRI techniques and equipment as well as the ability to work with diverse patient populations. The technician will also participate in rotating call schedules and maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and Visage PACS.

Responsibilities:

- Perform MRI procedures including general studies MSK body neuro and breast imaging.
- Prepare and administer contrast media.
- Start peripheral IVs.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and Visage PACS.
- Participate in rotating call schedules.
- Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE guidelines.
- Assist with patient data collection and specimen processing.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Answer unit phones and direct calls accordingly.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.
- Experience with Adult Acute Care Adult ICU Adult Outpatient ER/Trauma/Pediatric Acute Care & Pediatric Outpatient settings.
- Proficiency in Abdomen Abdominal Magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) Abdominal Magnetic resonance venography (MRV) Female Pelvis Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) & Male Pelvis imaging.
- Proficiency in Breast imaging.
- Proficiency in Brain Cranial nerves Face/soft tissue neck Head Magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) Head Magnetic resonance venography (MRV) Neck Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV) & Orbits imaging.
- Proficiency in Foot Hand Hip/bony pelvis Knee Lower extremity long bones Shoulder Sternum Temporomandibular joint with/without contrast & Upper extremity long bones imaging.
- Knowledge of Isolation Precautions/PPE.
- Preparation and administration of contrast media skills.
- Starting Peripheral IVs skills.
- Proficiency in T-1 Weighted Images & T-2 Weighted Images.
- Proficiency in Cervical Lumbar Sacrum/coccyx Spinal trauma Thoracic & Thoracic Magnetic resonance angiography imaging.
- ARRT MR certification.
- BLS certification.
- EPIC experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience with MR Cardiac with/without Contrast MR Cardiac with Stress with/without Contrast MR Aortogram MR Pulmonary & MR Angio Lower Extremity with Bilateral Runoff.
- Experience with Chest & Myocardium imaging.
- Management/lead experience.
- Knowledge of Radiation Safety.
- Proficiency in CINE (Cerebrospinal fluid flow study Diffusion (non-brain) Gradient Echo Imaging Image post-processing (Apparent diffusion coefficient mapping subtraction) Maximum intensity projection (MIP) Multiplanar reconstruction (MRP) Perfusion Peripheral Magnetic resonance angiography (Iliac runoff) Spectroscopy Spin Echo Images & Surface Coils.
- ACLS certification.
- ARMRIT certification.
- ARRT R certification.
Special Considerations:

- Rotating call requirement: once a week 20:30 - 07:00 and 1 weekend every 4th week.
- No RTO allowed after booking. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
Scheduling:
- 12-hour day shifts: 08:00 - 20:30.
- Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.
- 36 hours per week may be offered.
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- Scheduling type: Per Unit Needs.
