We are looking for a teacher who is committed to reaching all students raising achievement through a rigorous and relevant curriculum and supporting a school culture of excellence and joyful learning.The employee is a member of our Health & Wellness team.This position involves teaching a variety of classes as well as health-related workshops Grades 9-12.The Wellness teacher will be responsible for the following in addition to other duties as assigned by their primary supervisor:Working with and for Students:Aligning curricular standards with state guidelinesPromoting health and wellness initiatives within the school and communityDocumenting annual unit and lesson plans correlated to state standardsMonitoring student progress through standards-based assessmentsAnalyzing student dataDifferentiating instructionSupporting planning and co-leading Service-Learning projectsAdvising students through daily Connections class (homeroom)Input academic and behavioral data on the school data management systemAnalyze student data and monitor student progress through standards-based assessmentsWorking with and for Families:Participate in Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences Communicate regularly with families about academic and social progressWorking with and for ColleaguesBuild and maintain a strong school culture centered on student achievementWork collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the school missionParticipate in professional development sessionsParticipate in grade-level team meetingsInputting academic and behavioral data into the school data management systemQualifications:Belief in the mission and vision of the schoolRelentless commitment to raising the academic achievement of all studentsCommitment to standards-based teaching and learningAbility to provide a structured orderly safe and respectful environment for studentsExcitement about integrating academics with community work.Interest in working collaboratively to improve instruction for all studentsEagerness to be part of creating an innovative and rigorous middle school programPossession of Massachusetts Teacher Certification or successful completion of the MTELsassociated with the role preferred but not requiredBachelors in Health Education or Public Health;The Danvers Public School District is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in education and employment.
