REPORTS TO:Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership for the assigned school so as to promote the academic achievement educational development of each student.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Works in collaboration with Spartanburg County Superintendents and Directors of Special Services in the provision of county-wide programs for low incidence disabilities
- Supervises and evaluates the schools educational program
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations
- Accepts full accountability for all monies collected and/or expended in the school to meet audit requirements
- Meets regularly with county Directors of Special Services to resolve issues related to placement and services for students with moderate and severe disabilities
- Manages and coordinates services for children with medically fragile conditions as well as students with severe autism emotional disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities
- Obtains and supervises necessary related services such as speech language therapy occupational therapy physical therapy autism support behavior therapy and augmentative communication
- Coordinates on-site services for children needing Childrens Rehabilitative Services (CRS) wheelchair clinics and orthotics clinics
- Supervises the development and appropriate implementation of students IEPs
- Provides specialized training for staff to meet the needs of students with severe intellectual and emotional disabilities
- Develops and coordinates integration of technology to meet the unique needs of this special population
- Develops partnerships and close working relationships with both public and private agencies in advocating for appropriate service delivery to children with severe disabilities
- Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students
Supervisestaff andcoordinate services and supports for the hearing impaired students in the Spartanburg County Hearing Impaired Program
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities designated by the Superintendent/Assistant

TERMS:240 days. Salary and work year to be recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation by the Superintendent.
