Job Summary

Description

This post is based in the Organisational Strategy and Performance team and is responsible for day to day management of strategic planning for Social Security Scotland including the co-ordination of the business planning process as well as the production of annual Business Plans and Corporate Plan which are essential to fulfil our governance framework.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the production of the organisational Business Plan and Corporate Plan documents including liaising with colleagues across the organisation on priorities.

  • Provide support for business planning at divisional level including line of sight to organisational priorities.

  • Co-ordinate the delivery of the Annual Accounts and Report including leading on the production of the Performance Report section

  • Provide a strategic narrative on organisational performance and facilitate the publication of the Performance Framework annual report.

  • Lead the co-ordination of Social Security Scotlands input and response to external scrutiny reviews including Scottish Commission on Social Security reviews and Audit Scotland performance reports working closely with Social Security policy.

  • Line management and day to day responsibility for a team of staff to deliver a credible responsive and professional service

2. Operational Leadership and Management

  • Sets a compelling sense of direction and purpose for the team and builds costed measurable plans to secure and maintain delivery excellence.
  • Systematically manages risks which might impact on service delivery using Risk Registers Certificates of Assurance etc.
  • Leads teams to ensure delivery is achieved within legal regulatory and policy frameworks and to promote a culture of compliance (where required).


3. Data and Insight

  • Sources and analyses a range of data and insights (e.g. user-insights socio-economic data) to inform options and make decisions.

  • Leads the development of metrics and dashboards to assess performance and improvements to services and operational delivery.

  • Manages supports and engages positively with inspections and audits - to gather data and evidence and shape and act upon findings and recommendations.

Our standard hours are 35 hours perweekand we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role.
