Overview

We are seeking a detail-orientedQuality Assurance (QA) Specialistwith strong expertise inPower BI testing and Microsoft Fabric migrations. This role will play a critical part in ensuringdata integrity reliability and performanceacross our reporting and analytics environment. The ideal candidate will combinefront-end user testing skills(Power BI Service navigation validating report usability) withback-end data validation(SQL queries pipeline testing data model checks).

Mandatory skills:

Microsoft Fabric expertise with notebook development

More specifically the core skills would be:

1. Microsoft Fabric (Data Engineering / Data Analytics environment)
2. Notebook development in Fabric (typically using PySpark / Spark SQL)
3. Data migration experience to Microsoft Fabric
4. Testing and validation within Fabric notebooks
5. Understanding of QA automation in data platforms

Key Responsibilities

• QA Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement QA strategies for data workflows pipelines and models within Microsoft Fabric.
• Establish repeatable testing processes to validate data quality consistency and accuracy across Power BI reports and semantic models.
• Testing & Validation
• TestPower BI Service functionality including navigation permissions and user interactions.
• Validate front-end report outputs and ensure consistency with underlying data sources.
• Query SQL backend sources to confirm data accuracy transformations and performance.
• Compare legacy vs. Fabric environments to ensure identical functionality and results.
• Automation & Documentation
• Design and manage automated testing processes for pipelines models and integrations.
• Document test cases scenarios and outcomes in a clear reproducible manner.
• Track and report quality metrics ensuring SLAs for data availability and accuracy are met.
• Collaboration & Issue Resolution
• Work closely with Business Analysts Power BI Developers Data Engineers Modelers and Governance Specialists to uphold data quality standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis for data-related issues and coordinate resolution efforts.
• Recommend improvements in testing frameworks methodologies and tools.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience inPower BI Service testing including navigation permissions and report validation.
• Ability toquery SQL databasesfor back-end validation and issue troubleshooting.
• Comfort withExcel (pivot tables lookups comparisons)for validation and analysis.
• Strong understanding ofdata quality principles(completeness accuracy consistency).
• Familiarity withMicrosoft Fabric and Azure environments.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks fordata pipelines and integrations.
• Experience in defining tracking and reportingQA and data quality metrics.
• Strong documentation skills to create clear and repeatable test cases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testingdata migrations to Microsoft Fabric.
• Familiarity withAzure security protocolsand governance frameworks.
• Prior experience inroot cause analysisfor complex data/reporting issues.
• Exposure tocontinuous integration/continuous testing (CI/CT) practices.
