**Job-Specific Position Duties:**
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Facilitate appropriate referrals to community resources and other government agencies for services.
- Conduct independent assessments of the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members and develop and implement a treatment plan that emphasizes collaboration with the patient family and interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Perform independent psychosocial assessments and provide psychosocial treatment to a diverse array of individuals from various socio-economic cultural ethnic educational and other backgrounds.
- Utilize medical and mental health diagnoses disabilities and treatment procedures encompassing acute chronic and traumatic illnesses/injuries common medications and their effects/side effects as well as relevant medical terminology.
- Apply treatment modalities while working with individuals families and groups experiencing a range of psychiatric medical and social issues to achieve established treatment goals.
- Provide independent counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals groups couples and families ensuring practice remains within the confines of the applicable license or certification.
- Offer consultation services to other staff regarding the psychosocial needs of patients and the implications of psychosocial issues on health care and adherence to treatment.
- Engage in professional peer review case conferences research studies or other organizational activities as mandated at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Collaborate with medical personnel legal authorities military commanders and school districts as necessary.
**Work Schedule:**Monday to Friday 9 hours between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).-
**Experience:** A minimum of two years of experience within the last five years is required; prior experience working with the Department of Defense (DOD) or the Veterans Affairs (VA) is highly desirable.-
**License:** An active unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Social Worker from any state is mandatory.
- **Life Support Certification:** Possession of a current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification. Note: BLS certification may be obtained upon acceptance prior to the start date.-
**Security Clearance:** An ability to successfully pass a government background check/security clearance is required.
