Shift: Night Shift 58 Hours (8:30 PM 5:00 AM) Sunday Thursday

Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Histology Technician to join a fast-paced histology laboratory supporting diagnostic pathology services. The selected candidate will perform tissue processing embedding microtomy and slide preparation while maintaining high standards of specimen integrity and laboratory accuracy.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in embedding and precision microtomy is comfortable working in high-volume laboratory environments and has a solid understanding of histological procedures and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Histology Laboratory Procedures
Perform tissue processing and preparation for histopathological examination
Conduct embedding procedures for various specimen types including GI skin and large tissue samples
Perform precision microtomy using both automated and manual microtomes
Prepare paraffin sections and frozen sections using cryostat techniques
Specimen Handling & Preparation
Prepare and manage histology cassettes and tissue blocks
Perform microtomy for complex tissue types including fatty and dense tissues
Ensure proper embedding techniques and correct specimen orientation
Staining & Slide Preparation
Perform Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) staining procedures
Prepare slides for staining with accurate labeling and documentation
Maintain consistency and quality in slide preparation
Laboratory Quality & Equipment
Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment including microtomes and cryostats
Follow laboratory safety protocols and quality standards
Maintain specimen integrity in a high-volume laboratory environment
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Strong expertise in embedding and microtomy techniques
Experience with automated and manual microtomes
Knowledge of histological tissue processing and staining procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory setting
Excellent attention to detail and quality control
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Histology Technician experience
ASCP-HT (Histotechnician) Certification Required
Strong experience in embedding and microtomy
Experience in tissue processing and histology specimen preparation
Ability to work night shifts in a high-volume laboratory
