We are seeking a highly skilled and solutionsdriven Assistant Manager to join our CBC team. The ideal candidate will be a CA(SA) with at least one year post-articles experience strong technical knowledge in Annual Financial Statement (AFS) preparation and solid exposure to budgeting and forecasting.
This role requires an individual who has successfully led a team and is comfortable presenting financial and management information to Senior Management and Executives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare and review Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in accordance with relevant reporting frameworks
Consolidate analyse and interpret financial data to support informed decision-making
Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports including variance analysis and key insights
Present financial results projections and performance updates to Executives and Senior Management.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Drive the annual budgeting process working closely with cross-functional teams
Prepare rolling forecasts ensuring accuracy financial discipline and alignment with business goals
Provide strategic financial input to support business planning and performance optimisation
Leadership & Team Management
Manage and mentor a team of at least two or more finance professionals
Oversee day-to-day team operations ensuring high-quality output and adherence to deadlines
Develop staff through coaching feedback and ongoing professional development
Controls Compliance & Process Improvement
Ensure financial controls policies and procedures are adhered to and continuously improved
Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency automate reporting processes and strengthen data accuracy
Support internal and external audit requirements where necessary
Were looking for:
CA(SA) qualification
Minimum 1 year postarticles experience
Proven experience in AFS preparation
Strong background in budgeting and forecasting
Demonstrated experience leading a team (minimum 2 direct reports)
Experience presenting to Executives and Senior Management
Strong analytical communication and stakeholderengagement skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
Insurance industry experience highly advantageous
Qualifications (one of the following):
CA(SA) qualification.
