Social Care Leader - Work Options

Specific Purpose Contract

St. Michaels House is a community based organisation committed to providing a quality person centred service and high standard of living to people with an intellectual disability in the greater Dublin area.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a skilled and responsive staff team to deliver a high quality service for three young people. Working closely with the Social Care Leader multi disciplinary team and families the key task is to provide positive behaviour and person centred supports to ensure a good quality of life for these three young people.

Essential Criteria for Applicants

  • Have at least 5 years experience working in the area of intellectual disability within a community setting.
  • Have and understanding of New Directions.
  • Have experience and understanding of HIQA regulations.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in a management role in the area of health or social care.
  • Experience of managing a staff team and developing the team to ensure that they have the necessary skills and motivation to deliver to the highest of standards.
  • Have a strong commitment to the empowerment of the service users and their families.
  • Excellent facilitation leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing.
  • Highly organised motivated flexible and ability to problem solve.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland

Essential Qualifications Required:

  • QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College
  • Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology DIT or National University of Ireland.
  • CORU Registration or be in the process of registration.

  • A relevant health or social care management qualification

Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with the February 2026 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Leader pay scale (point 1; 56915 point 12; 66465 per annum based on working a 39 hour week). Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
