Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and servicing machinery used in the production of paper bags ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

This is a temp-to-hire onsite role and candidates must be flexible to work across all scheduled shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Prioritize safety and model safe work practices at all times
Service and maintain machines used in paper bag production
Adjust and troubleshoot bag-making equipment to maintain safe and efficient operation
Perform preventative maintenance such as greasing oiling and inspecting machine components
Ensure equipment runs efficiently and at posted operating speeds
Perform machine lubrication according to maintenance schedules
Inspect equipment and replace worn or defective parts
Assist with machine rebuilds and repairs when necessary
Support production teams with roll changes and machine adjustments
Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist operators when machines go down
Help train new and current employees on equipment operation and safety procedures
Ensure finished products meet standards for safety quality efficiency and waste reduction
Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors or shift leads

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous Maintenance Mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience performing preventative maintenance on production machinery
Ability to grease oil and maintain machine components
Experience with machine adjustments and troubleshooting
Knowledge of lockout/tagout safety procedures
Basic low-voltage electrical knowledge preferred
Must have your own maintenance tools
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with operators supervisors and maintenance personnel
