KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in directing the strategic planning development and implementation of programs.
- Represents the organization at meetings conferences and other events.
- May develop and present speeches or presentations to generate or enhance awareness of program(s).

- Participates in planning administering and monitoring program related budgets.
- Conducts research designs new initiatives and collaborates with others to ensure program(s) remain viable.
- May serve on hold office in or chair committees.
- May write publishable articles and papers.
- May supervise staff.
- Oversees or assists in developing operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Ensures required records and documentation are maintained.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in a field related to the program(s) and five years of program related experience OR equivalent combination of experience education and training.

- The Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University seeks an experienced highly organized collaborative service-oriented Assistant Director of Programs to support the quality execution and scaling of its CBCT (Cognitively Based Compassion Training) program which includes the Teacher Certification program research collaborations communications and promotional efforts and the growth and management of a new digital learning platform (Compassion U) to fulfill the mission of the Compassion Center to provide reliable and accessible compassion education to diverse audiences across languages and addition to the generic job description duties this role will specifically:
- Work closely with CBCT Program Director to design coordinate and execute operational facets of the CBCT program including development and execution of CBCT strategic planning goals and staffing allocation.
- Support the CBCT Program Director in cultivating a collaborative and harmonious environment within the CBCT team to collect and track the CBCT teams goals progress and outcomes and to communicate openly and regularly with team members to achieve these aims.
- Create and implement tracking tools and execute tracking of ongoing simultaneous and sequential projects including the work of consultants on various projects including contract performance and review of invoices.
- Support the writing of contracts scopes of work requests for proposals research and other grant proposals letters of intent etc.
- Coordinate with other Emory departments to comply with policies provide accurate and timely communications and to reliably track contracts invoices and payments. Emory departments include but are not limited to: Advancement & Alumni Engagement Research Administration Services Office of Sponsored Programs Finance Procurement and Office of the General Counsel.
- Support the CBCT Program Director to interface with other Compassion Center programs and leaders to assure transparent communication alignment of mutual goals and activities and alignment of policies and procedures.
- This is a two-year term position with renewal subject to performance and funding.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant project management or administrative work experience of 12-20 years
- Ability to manage multiple priorities research policies and procedures within Emory and beyond and work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate across cultures and contexts.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Demonstrated proficiency in CRM in general and specifically HubSpot is desirable.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
