Title - Teacher for the Visually Impaired (2026-2027)Schedule - Full TimeLocation - NCOESC All Service AreasJob Summary Under general direction provides in collaboration with the students IEP team consultation and/or direct services to students whose visual functioning interferes with educational performance. The TVI educates supports and collaborates with family members and other members of the instructional team who work with the learner with a visual impairment. The TVI must be able to convey professional opinions in a diplomatic collaborative manner in order to ensure that appropriate programming is recommended for the Qualifications-Valid Ohio teachers license/certificate with the teaching field of Visually Impaired (PK-12) 196109-Valid drivers license-Strong relationship building communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills with school/campus staff parents and internal/external interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity & competence-Ability to efficiently multitask on a daily basis-May require successful completion of communicable disease child abuse CPR first aid CPI and/or behavioral management training or other training as needed-The employee shall remain free of alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment with the ESC-Proficiency with use of technology hardware and basic software (i.e. Microsoft office) email and office equipment (i.e. copier fax scanner telephone etc.). Proficiency with web-based applications (i.e. Google Docs DEWs website social media etc.) and -NCOESC databasesAbility to preserve confidentiality of student information and records
