Summary:
Under the direction of a System Principal the Student Success Learning Partner will implement and support Ministry of Education initiatives including but not limited to; Student Success Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Dual Credit Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) Career-Life Planning experiential learning and specialized programs for students . Collaborating closely with the Lead Technology & Design Teacher (OYAP) the Student Success Learning Partner will have responsibility for Dual Credit COOP SHSM with key connections to the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP). In collaboration with a team including the Lead Tech nology & Design Teacher the learning partner will innovate to make student learning visible across the Upper Canada District School Board in the service of student achievement well-being and engagement for all.

Ability to support innovation and creative risk-taking while ensuring a safe and supportive environment that will enhance student learning and well-being.
Demonstrated experience in the creation of inclusive learning environments and in addressing achievement and opportunity gaps.
A track record of implementing innovative approaches to build successful programs and pathways for students.
Ability to support the UCDSBs vision for Student Success with a range of strategies to support schools in achieving the district goal of a 90% graduation rate.
Highly developed interpersonal and relational skills.
Ability to work as part of a team to plan for develop and implement professional learning experiences for educators across the UCDSB.
Responsibilities:
Support innovative teaching practices enabled by the design process to more precisely engage and address the learning needs of all students .
Facilitate the development of resources projects initiatives in the school board enhancing program and pathways including Career-Life Planning Post-Secondary Education pathways grades 7-12 across the district.
Implement and support Ministry of Education initiatives including but not limited to the Renewed Math Strategy Literacy FSL Early Learning Equity Indigenous Education Special EducationStudent Success Building the Workforce of Tomorrow Re-engagement Career-Life Planning Innovation Creativity and Entrepreneurship and Apprenticeships.
Support schools in the development and monitoring of SI P goals with a focus on Literacy Numeracy and Wellness connected to SAP goals.
Work in partnership with the Curriculum and Assessment department to support learning programming and opportunities in the skilled trades SHSM Dual Credit Cooperative Education and OYAP.
Work with other Learning Partners to co-plan facilitate and support system wide initiatives.
Work with other Learning Partners to co-plan facilitate and support learning for principals teachers and students.
Co-facilitate school learning teams under the direction of the school principal.
Co-plan and co-teach with classroomteachers.
Assistteachers in implementing high impact classroom practices that directly impact student learning and engagement (differentiated instruction universaldesignfor learning assessment and evaluation skills and competency development Social-Emotional Learning etc.).
Co-plan and co-organize learning opportunities for students
Assist with facilitating and coordinating supports for students
Qualifications and Experience:
Ontario Teachers Certificate of Qualification
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
Member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing
Secondary Qualifications in Special Education (preferred)
Secondary Qualifications in Co-operative Education (preferred)
Secondary Qualifications in Guidance (preferred)
Specialist qualification in a secondary subject area is preferred
Demonstrated expertise implementing projects from beginning to end.
Extensive experience in Experiential Learning projects that feature students solving real world problems.
Highly innovativeapproaches to teaching and learning that create cross-curricular opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning beyond the walls of school.
