Work Flexibility: Hybrid
The Senior Manager Sourcing (Hybrid) will lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities for assigned commodities at our Portage Michigan site within the Medical division. This role is responsible for obtaining the best quality service and value for products and services through effective bidding negotiation and supplier management.
The Senior Manager Sourcing will also lead the development and implementation of strategies and projects related to cost reduction initiatives new product development supply base optimization and rationalization quality improvement risk assessment and contract negotiation.
This is a hybrid role. We are seeking a candidate located in Portage MI or the surrounding area. The employee is expected to be physically present at the Stryker location in Portage on a weekly basis with the flexibility to work from home.
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned commodities align sourcing strategies with divisional business objectives and long-term growth plans.
Develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies including spend analysis supply base optimization and lifecycle planning to drive value and operational efficiency.
Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering quality operations and finance) to support new product development sourcing decisions and supply chain optimization.
Drive supplier selection and sourcing decisions through data-driven analysis including cost modeling should-costing and make-versus-buy evaluations.
Lead contract strategy and negotiations to secure favorable terms ensure compliance and maximize quality service and total value.
Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships driving collaboration innovation and continuous improvement in quality delivery and cost performance.
Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks including market volatility supplier financial health sustainability and regulatory considerations.
Monitor market trends technology advancements and industry dynamics to inform sourcing strategies strengthen supplier networks and uncover cost-saving opportunities.
What you need
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in supply management Business Finance Engineering or related field
10 years in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development.
Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy negotiations contractual terms and contract administration.
Knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base.
Strong skills in leadership influencing communication & presentation project management
International sourcing and supplier management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree
Professional certifications through APICS ISM and/or CSCMP
Experience operating in a highly regulated industry. Medical Device industry sourcing and supplier management experience
Strong electronics or metals commodity management experience
Travel Percentage: 10%
