Reports to: Executive Director of Finance
Job Description: Perform professional-level financial support and assistance in the areas of budgetary control financial reporting and fund accounting. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Districts financial records through rigorous reconciliation maintenance of the chart of accounts in alignment with state standards and ensuring district-wide compliance with fiscal policies and laws.
Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred).
- Must obtain and maintain an AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Proficient computer skills specifically in Microsoft Excel and data management.
- Previous experience in School ERP accounting software (preferred).
- Working knowledge of the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR).

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Account Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations for all district cash accounts and budget line items to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Chart of Accounts Management: Maintain and update the Districts internal chart of accounts ensuring strict alignment with the USFR Chart of Accounts and coding structures providing training to users of account codes as needed.
- Code Oversight: Manage and approve all account code requests verifying that transactions are coded appropriately.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and input necessary journal entries budget transfers and corrections in the Visions software.
- Financial Reporting: Create periodic and ad hoc financial reports for the CFO Superintendent and Governing Board.
- Grants & Funds: Assist in the monitoring of state and federal grant funds to ensure expenditures align with approved grant applications and timelines.
- USFR Knowledge: Maintain a working knowledge of the Financial Reporting and Budgeting sections of the USFR.
- Compliance & Policy: Ensure District compliance with all Governing Board policies Arizona Revised Statutes and Federal Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
- Audit Support: Work directly with the contracted audit firm during the annual district audit providing necessary workpapers reconciliations and documentation.
- Inter-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with school sites and department heads to monitor budget capacity provide financial clarity and resolve coding errors.
- Records Management: Understand and maintain a working knowledge of the Records Management section of the USFR for financial document retention.
- Continuous Improvement: Attend classes seminars and AASBO (Arizona Association of School Business Officials) meetings to keep current with the latest legislative changes affecting school finance.
- Ethical Behavior: Exercise discretion maintain confidentiality and exhibit a high level of ethical behavior at all times.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Finance or District Leadership.

Terms of Employment
- Full Time: 40 hours/week Non-Exempt
- 12 Month Work Calendar
- 15 paid Holidays (60 day probationary period)
- Earned Paid Sick Time (up to 5 days) (90 day probationary period)
- Personal Business Leave (up to 7 days)
- Vacation accrual based on tenure (up to 5-15 days)
- Mandatory participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)
- District fully paid Medical Dental Vision and Basic Life Insurance & AD&D benefits for employee only (60 day probationary period)
