About the Role
As a Design Technology Teacher you will deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will help pupils develop design thinking technical knowledge and practical skills through a range of design and manufacturing projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teaching aspects of product design materials and manufacturing processes
Supporting pupils in developing creative design ideas and practical solutions
Supervising safe use of workshop equipment and tools
Assessing pupil work and providing constructive feedback to support progress
Encouraging creativity innovation and independent thinking
Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
Supporting extracurricular opportunities such as design clubs or project competitions
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Design Technology or a related discipline
Demonstrate the ability to deliver engaging practical lessons
Be confident managing workshop environments and maintaining safety standards
Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
Be committed to supporting pupils creativity and technical development
