About the Role
As a History Teacher you will deliver well-structured engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will encourage pupils to develop research skills critical thinking and the ability to form independent judgments about historical events.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Supporting pupils of varying abilities through differentiated teaching strategies

• Using assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching

• Encouraging independent research and critical thinking

• Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development

• Supporting extracurricular activities such as history clubs trips and competitions

• Maintaining high standards of behaviour engagement and academic achievement

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Have strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History

• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Be committed to fostering pupils independent thinking and curiosity

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop engaging learning experiences
