Role Definition

We are seeking an experiencedPlatform System Architectto define and govern the architecture of anenterprisegradeonpremKubernetes platformsupportingmissioncriticaland autonomy workloads. This roleis responsible fortheendtoendarchitectural visionlongtermevolution and technical guardrails of the platform acrossonprem edge andairgappedenvironments.

The Platform System Architect works closely with Platform Technical Leads SRE Security and Application teams to ensure the platform isscalable resilient secure operable and aligned with business and product needs. This is aseniorhandsonarchitectural rolewith strong influence over platform direction.

Responsibilities

• Define and own theend toendsystem architecturefor theonpremKubernetes platform.
• Establish andmaintainreference architectures design standards and architectural guardrailsacrosscompute networking storage security and observability.
• Drive architectural decisions forhigh availability scalability resiliency fault isolation and disaster recovery.
• Define theplatform technology roadmap including versioning lifecycle management and deprecation strategies.
• ArchitectKubernetes cluster topology and platform componentsto support multisiteonprem andairgappeddeployments.
• Definenetworking andservicetoservicecommunication architecture including CNI service mesh ingress/egress and traffic security models.
• Establishstorage and data architecture patternsfor stateful workloads and platform services.
• Define thesecurity architecturefor identity access management certificates secrets and image supply chain.
• Specify and governnonfunctional requirements (NFRs)such as performance availability security scalability and operability.
• Partner with Technical Leads and SRE teams to ensure architectures areimplementable operable and supportable at scale.
• Review and approvearchitecture designs RFCs and major technical changesimpactingthe platform.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural patterns and guidecontinuous platform evolution.
• Act as thearchitectural authorityfor platform integrations with application teams and enterprise systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree inComputerScience Engineering or equivalent.
• 12 yearsof experience in infrastructure platform or systems engineering roles.
• 7 yearsof experience designing and evolvinglargescale distributed systems.
• 5 yearsof experience architectingKubernetesbasedplatforms preferably inonpremorselfmanagedenvironments.
• Strong foundationindistributed systems Linux networking and storage architecture.
• Proven experience definingarchitecture standards reference designs and technical guardrails.
• Demonstrated ability to balancelongtermarchitectural vision withrealworldoperational constraints.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience designing platforms forairgapped disconnected or edge environments.
• Deep familiarity with enterprise Kubernetes ecosystems including:
  • Service mesh architectures
  • Softwaredefinedstorage
  • Observability and monitoring platforms
  • Platform security andzerotrustmodels
• Experienceoperatingin aPlatform SRE shared responsibility model.
• Background inindustrial autonomy ormissioncriticalsystems.
• Prior experience influencing platform direction across multiple teams or products.
