Job Summary

Role Purpose

To lead the Plant HR function with primary responsibility for Industrial Relations statutory compliance and workforce governance while ensuring stable plant operations strong employee engagement and full adherence to labour laws and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations (Primary Focus)

  • Manage union relationships and act as the key interface between management and workmen.
  • Lead wage settlements long-term settlements (LTS) and negotiations.
  • Proactively prevent and resolve disputes grievances and disciplinary matters.
  • Handle domestic enquiries and ensure due process in disciplinary actions.
  • Drive harmonious employee relations to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Partner with plant leadership to build a positive shop-floor culture.

Statutory & Labour Law Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory requirements (Factories Act ID Act CLRA Minimum Wages Bonus Gratuity etc.).
  • Oversee statutory registers returns and inspections.
  • Liaise with labour authorities factory inspectorate and government bodies.
  • Ensure contractor compliance and governance under CLRA and related laws.
  • Support internal and external audits (statutory customer certification).

HR Operations Plant Level

  • Oversee attendance payroll inputs leave management and manpower records.
  • Ensure compliance in contract labour engagement and documentation.
  • Monitor manpower planning and workforce productivity.
  • Drive onboarding confirmations and exit processes for plant employees.
  • Support training initiatives POSH and code of conduct.

Policy Governance & Risk Management

  • Implement HR policies aligned with corporate guidelines.
  • Identify IR and compliance risks and proactively mitigate them.
  • Maintain documentation and records to ensure audit readiness.
  • Support investigations related to misconduct safety violations or ethical breaches.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Site Head Engineering EHS and Production teams.
  • Act as custodian of discipline and code of conduct at the plant.
  • Provide guidance to line managers on labour law and IR matters.

Candidate Profile

  • MBA / MSW in HR or related discipline.
  • 12 18 years of HR experience in manufacturing setup. Can look at 15 yrs.
  • Strong hands-on exposure to Industrial Relations and labour law compliance.
  • Experience dealing with unions and government authorities.
  • Sound knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory frameworks.
  • Strong negotiation conflict resolution and documentation skills.
