About the Opportunity
Star Nursing is seeking Respiratory Care Practitioners with experience in sleep lab or sleep study technology to join a specialized cardiopulmonary care team.
This role focuses on supporting patients with sleep-related breathing disorders while helping maintain optimal cardiopulmonary function in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols. The position requires strong technical knowledge attention to detail and the ability to respond to varying clinical situations.
Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner Sleep Lab provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients undergoing sleep studies and respiratory evaluations. This role supports patient care across age groups and works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary clinical teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform sleep studies and respiratory diagnostic procedures
- Monitor and assess cardiopulmonary status during testing
- Implement physician orders and departmental protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
- Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues during sleep studies
- Support patient education regarding sleep disorders and treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program
- Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner license required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Experience in sleep study technology or sleep lab environments
Additional Requirements
- Sleep Disorders Specialty certification (NBRC) required within 2 years of hire
- Ability to work with patients across multiple age groups
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
