Position Overview We are seeking an
OSP Construction Coordinator / QA-QC Technician to support Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications projects involving
underground fiber construction fiber splicing and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployments.
This role will act as the on-site quality and coordination representative working directly with subcontractor crews and their onsite managers to ensure construction work is completed safely efficiently and according to project specifications. The Construction Coordinator will help plan upcoming work activities with subcontractor leadership perform quality inspections and report progress and issues back to company leadership.
The position combines field oversight subcontractor coordination and construction quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities Field Oversight & QA/QC

Perform pre-construction and post-construction site walkouts to verify project readiness and completion.

Conduct QA/QC inspections of underground fiber installations including conduit placement handholes manholes and fiber infrastructure.

Inspect fiber splicing work and infrastructure to ensure compliance with project standards and engineering specifications.

Ensure subcontractor crews follow construction standards project scope and safety requirements.

Identify construction issues installation errors or deviations and escalate to project leadership when necessary.

Verify as-built documentation and assist in troubleshooting construction or routing issues.
Subcontractor Coordination

Coordinate daily with subcontractor field managers and crew leads to understand planned work activities and construction strategies.

Monitor subcontractor progress and ensure work aligns with project timelines and engineering plans.

Serve as the field liaison between subcontractor teams and internal leadership.

Communicate project progress quality updates and potential risks to management.
Project Coordination & Reporting

Prepare and support Bills of Materials (BOM) and Notice to Proceed (NTP) documentation.

Track construction progress and provide weekly reports on field activity and project status.

Assist with permitting coordination and communication with municipalities when required.

Maintain project documentation inspection records and photo documentation.
Qualifications
-
2 years of experience in OSP telecommunications construction underground fiber installation or utility construction.

Working knowledge of fiber construction practices FTTH infrastructure and underground cable installation.

Experience coordinating or overseeing subcontractor crews on construction projects.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings fiber network layouts and engineering plans.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar reporting tools.

Valid drivers license with clean driving record.

Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Work Environment
This role combines office coordination and active field involvement. Field duties include walking construction sites inspecting infrastructure and coordinating with crews in outdoor environments.
Travel to job sites within Akron Ohio and surrounding areas will be required.
