Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant- Mainframe COBOL Developer
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe COBOL Developer to support and enhance mission-critical banking applications running on IBM Mainframe systems. The role involves development maintenance performance optimization and production support of core banking modules such as deposits loans payments treasury and regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
. Application Development & Maintenance
Develop enhance and maintain COBOL programs.
Modify batch and online programs as per business requirements.
Write and optimize JCL for batch processing.
Handle change requests and production fixes.

2. Online & Batch Processing
Develop and support:
oCICS online transactions
oBatch jobs and scheduling
Monitor batch cycles and resolve abends.
Ensure smooth End-of-Day (EOD) / Beginning-of-Day (BOD) processing.

3. Database Management
Design and maintain DB2 tables and queries.
Write embedded SQL in COBOL programs.
Perform query tuning and performance optimization.
Handle data reconciliation and correction scripts.

4. Banking Domain Support
Work on modules such as:
oDeposits (CASA Term Deposits)
oLoans & Lending
oPayments & Remittances
oTrade Finance
oRegulatory Reporting
Ensure compliance with RBI/SEBI (or relevant regulator) guidelines.
Support audit and compliance activities.

5. Production Support & Incident Management
Analyze and fix production issues.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA).
Participate in release and deployment cycles.
Provide on-call support (if required).

6. Documentation & Quality
Prepare technical design documents.
Maintain program specifications.
Follow coding standards and peer review processes.
Support SIT/UAT testing.
