Student-at-Large: Students Union Building (SUB) Planning Committee
ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE
This is a volunteer position on a student governance committee from May 2026 to April 2027. While this is an unpaid role student committee members will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions and develop transferable skills. The Terms of Reference for this committee can be found

Called the living room of campus the Students Union Building (SUB) is a hub of student activity and home to many of the UASUs businesses and services. Whether in need of a cup of coffee a place to print your notes or a place to study SUB is the building that caters to the student experience. Members of this committee have a variety of responsibilities connected to how SUB meets student needs.
EXPECTATIONS AND TIME COMMITMENT
This committee will meet on an as-needed basis. The meeting schedule is subject to change based on the availability of committee members. Committee members are expected to attend as many meetings as possible and carefully review all meeting materials in advance so they can make informed decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be University of Alberta undergraduate students registered in at least one course for credit in the Fall and Winter semesters of the 2026/27 academic year. Familiarity with the Students Union Building is an asset. At least one of the students-at-large on this committee must be an Indigenous student so First Nations Métis and/or Inuit students are encouraged to apply. This position is open to all faculties and all experience levels are welcome.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Applications should include a resume and expression of interest (500 words) listing past experience and interest in the position. Questions regarding the roles duties qualifications or time commitment can be directed to the President at Selected candidates will be contacted by the Council Administration Committee.
