About the Opportunity

William Clarke College is seeking a suitably qualified Assistant Head of Music to join our friendly and highly regarded team. You will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of the Colleges co-curricular Music program so that students flourish through high-quality ensemble experiences rehearsals performances and events that reflect the Colleges Christ-centred purpose. Reporting to the Head of Faculty and working collaboratively with the Director of Co-Curricular the role supports the Director of Music to realise a coherent student-centred program from Preparatory to Year 12 and contributes to teaching and learning as directed.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing in Term 2 2026

About You

  • Demonstrated success leading school-based co-curricular music including ensembles concerts and tours.
  • Excellence as a classroom practitioner with the ability to teach to Higher School Certificate level.
  • Strong event and production capability including run sheets stage management and logistics.
  • Confident user of music and scheduling systems with the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Appropriate teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation
  • Clear written and verbal communication with a professional and empathetic style.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to build collaboration give and receive feedback and address difficult conversations constructively.
  • Ability to lead through influence and coordinate contractors and peripatetic tutors in line with College expectations.
  • The successful candidate will be required to hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check in accordance with Child Protection legislation
  • Regularpracticing member of a Christian church
