Watson Candidate Assistant is here to answer questions about working at Dallas ISD.- Act as Interpreter between students parents and school staff from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English and Spanish at Special Education meetings
- Interpret with no additions or omissions following technical information legally mandated educational requirements and Special Education terminology.
- Maintain de integrity of confidential information relating to students staff or district
- Handle three-way Hotline interpretations between school staff and parents while maintaining daily phone activity logs
- Must be available to work evening Saturday and short notice meetings.
- Render clear and exact translations of written materials following guidelines.
- All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification as appropriate.
- Pursue continued development of skills and knowledge.
- Be an actively contributing team member and support the District mission.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency); or equivalent experience: Bachelors degree or some college hours preferred.
- Two years of experience as translator/interpreter with knowledge of ARD/FIE procedures in a school setting preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English and Spanish oral and written
- Demonstrate strong written and oral language skills in Spanish and English including proofreading with keen attention to detail.
- Experience with use of google docs Word PDFs.
- If working remotely from home have an adequate work environment to process the calls - free from distractions such as pets and other unexpected noises.
- Strong organization time management prioritization problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to learn the use of FM transmitters/receivers (interpretation equipment)
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Exemplary attendance
- Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills to work with a diverse group of individuals.
